Caninology launched in 2005 and continues to grow. Whether you are looking for continuing education, one course of interest or an entire certification series, you have come to the right place. This site takes you through both programs explaining the different levels of certification as Equinology® Equine Body Worker professionals and Caninology® Canine Body Worker professionals as well as our specialty certifications in Equine Myofascial Release and Saddle Assessment. Recognized by Multiple Organizations Equinology is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider. Equinology's courses are approved and recognized by the International Equine Body Workers Association ( www.iebwa.com), UK's McTimoney Chiropractic Association and the Society of Osteopaths in Animal Practice. Leading International Program So many others try to copy our long standing program and we are flattered. But, no other program offers as many courses as Equinology INC® and Caninology® with the high profile instructors. We feel your education should be presented by the best in the field in a classroom setting with plenty of hands on instruction. The comprehensive material we offer is supervised by instructor participation not distance learning. While distance learning works well for some subject matter and course preparation; applied techniques need to be supervised for accuracy and value. If you were planning on receiving a massage, wouldn’t you prefer a practitioner that attended a program for the fine tuning and the modification required with on-site training rather than a practitioner who earned their “certification” from a book, video or other distance training? Wouldn’t you also feel more confident and assured knowing that your chosen practitioner has been examined by the issuing certification institution and completed case studies before earning their certificate? World-renowned Instructors We strive to produce the leaders in this ever challenging field. Veterinarians and specialists who are household names from around the world teach our many courses. Our instructors keep up with the rapidly changing information in the equine health industry to make sure our students evolve and stay current in this wonderful field. Progressive Equine and Canine Certification Levels Courses at Equinology, Inc® and Caninology® are presented in modular formats with the total hours adding up and going well beyond a 2-year course for those who continue to the Master Equinology® Equine Body Worker(MEEBW) certification level. In addition to the MEEBW certification, the foundation Equinology ® Equine Body Worker (EEBW) certification, the Equinology® Equine Body Worker Level II (EEBWII) certification, the Equinology® Equine Body Worker Level III (EEBWIII) certification and our Caninology® Canine Body Worker certification levels one and two, we offer additional Extension Certification modules in Equine Myofascial Release and Saddle Assessment. Although these extension modules are available for everyone to participate, to be officially certified by Equinology® one must also hold the Equinology® Equine Body Worker certification. Monitored Externships If your intended course hands you a "certificate of achievement" in a bodywork or some kind of modality at the end of a few days time or over the internet, run. We go the step beyond a “business” education service through the compulsory externships that accompany each course. We provide sets of guidelines for externships which includes case studies and extra learning activities so that students can build on and assimilate all the information from each course, before testing for each level of certification. We feel we can answer questions a student may have during the case studies and fine tune their techniques through the use of a video which the student submits at the end of certification level testing. We are proud of our name and our graduates. With a 95% externship pass rate (80% is required to attain the certification in both practical portions of the externship), successful graduates have been extremely well prepared and accepted in the equine complementary care field. Courses Suitable for Professionals and New Students Our program is aimed towards serious students who strive to be leaders in their chosen profession. Our courses are regularly attended by professionals such as veterinarians, physical therapists, human massage therapists, equine massage therapists, trainers, barn managers, and chiropractors as well as those who are just beginning their studies. The courses are taught in such a comprehensive logical format, that individuals with little or no complementary equine care and science background will find themselves up to speed with the other professional participants as long as they have good horse handling skills and understand equine behavior. Helpful Staff We welcome you to look through our site which explains our unique combination of courses. Please feel free to contact Paul at the office with any questions to help you chose the appropriate courses. We look forward to hearing from you soon and are fast with responses to your eager questions! The office is open 9am- 1pm Monday through Friday.
