A FURTHER EXPLORATION INTO THE EQUINE LIMB
is not only valuable to farriers and natural hoof care specialists, it is important information for trainers, owners, caregivers, breeders, judges, riders, therapists, chiropractors and veterinarians. The specimens used for the courses are great teachers and questions asked are answered thoroughly and thoughtfully, explained in a manner where
Dr. Deb Bennett will go into detail regarding the horse’s leg muscles as well as the development, structure, function and applied anatomy. Pathologies associated with hoof care, conformation and health issues are also explored. With this information you visualize the concepts. Have a look at Dr. Deb’s website: www.equinestudies.org (Equine Studies Institute) to get an idea of her presentations and wealth of knowledge. Dr. Deb, formerly of the Smithsonian Institution, and internationally-recognized teacher of equine anatomy and biomechanics, is known for her innovative spin in these subjects. Dr. Deb formerly taught at equine dentistry schools so she understands which material is important to enhance professionals in the field.
Participants in this class generally find that they’re having a very enjoyable time, with lively exchanges between students and instructor. There will be plenty of laughter and joshing around, along with a few solemn moments of awe as the beautiful design and function of the equine body unfolds before our eyes. We certainly look forward to having you join us for both the fun and the learning.
Please note that you do not need to have any prior preparation in anatomy to enroll in this class. You do not need to be a vet student or have taken another anatomy class before – if you have experience, that’s great but beginners are especially welcome. We all help each other to learn.
