By: Hilary Clayton, BVSc, PhD, MRCVS, McPhail Dressage Chair in Equine Sports Science, Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences,College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI
Peter Flood, BVSc, MSc, PhD, MRCVS, Professor, Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
Diana Rosenstein, DVM, MS, Dip ACVR, Associate Professor, Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, USA
This new volume is the first photographic atlas of equine anatomy to integrate illustrations of prepared specimens with correlative images of the same structures as visualised by each of the commonly used imaging modalities; radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy. Additional images illustrate the position and orientation of these structures in the living animal, as they would most commonly be encountered, either in the course of a physical examination (for example the viscera or reproductive organs in a rectal or vaginal examination), or as they present in the prone animal, during a surgical procedure. Thus the atlas has a true utility for the practitioner as well as the student.

The Horse Anatomy Workbook
Price $37.50
By Maggie Raynor
A student brought this into one of the classes recently. I looked it through and thought it was a good learning tool and workbook for individuals new to anatomy. The coloring aspect makes learning fun and the labeling is a useful tool for reviewing anatomy. Not only does the workbook go through the skeletal and muscle systems it visits most of the other systems too.
This book is based on Peter Goody's revised second addition and international best-seller "Horse Anatomy: The Pictorial Approach to Equine Structure”, which is a great companion book for the Horse Anatomy Workbook.

Author Biography:
Maggie Raynor is probably the most successful and sought-after equine illustrator working today. She is an experienced rider whose chief pleasure is schooling horses, and her intimate knowledge of horses, coupled with her well developed powers of observation ensure that her attractive and accurate illustrations convey information that is crystal clear. Maggie trained in sculpture at Sheffield College of Art and moved on to study print-making at the Royal College of Art. She was awarded a scholarship to further her print-making studies in Germany and when she returned took up riding and decided to become an equine illustrator instead. After many years in London she now lives in Sheffield.
